Simon Watson, a native of Dublin, moved to New York over 30 years ago to pursue a career in the visual arts. Although he had studied film, he experimented with other forms of art including painting before concentrating on photography. Since the early 1990s his work has appeared regularly in magazines, editorial publications and major advertising campaigns world-wide.

His work has been included in solo and group exhibitions in New York and Europe, including solo shows at Richard Anderson Gallery in New York, Kevin Kavanagh Gallery in Dublin and the Auschwitz Museum in Poland. His work is included in museum, public, private and corporate collections in the US and Europe.

Since 2020, Watson has published three books.
"The Lives of Others” (Rizzoli 2020), a major monograph representing a survey of his work over the last 30 years. "Portrait of a House” (Dürer Editions, 2021) in conjunction with his exhibition at Kevin Kavanagh Gallery in Dublin. And "Afternoon at Palazzo Altemps" (Dürer Editions, 2022)

Watson lives in Dublin.
